DEWAR CUP/MARLBOROUGH STROKE

Picton Golf Club hosted 50 golfers at the weekend for this annual event, first played for in 1935.

Picton Golf Club hosted nearly 50 golfers for this annual event, first played for in 1935. It was originally sponsored by Dewars Whiskey in Scotland (Perthshire) and now sponsored by New Zealand Breweries. The weather was fantastic and our course was looking great. A heat pump, sponsored by Fujitsu and Mint Air was on offer for the first hole in one scored at the weekend, but was not claimed. We saw some fantastic rounds of golf. Major winners were: Dewar Cup- Jack Evans (Picton), Senior Marlborough Stroke Brook - Hale (Rarangi), Intermediate Marlborough Stroke - Jeff Pascoe (Picton), Junior Marlborough Stroke - Lewis Wilson (Waahi Taakaro)
